THE OPENSOURCE 3D & INTERIOR DESIGNING SOFTWARE

 1). SWEETHOME-3: The  free interior design

Sweet Home 3D is a free interior design application that helps you place your furniture on a house 2D plan, with a 3D preview.
Available at http://www.sweethome3d.com/, this program is aimed at people who want to design their interior quickly, whether they are moving or they just want to redesign their existing home. Numerous visual guides help you draw the plan of your home and layout furniture. You may draw the walls of your rooms upon the image of an existing plan, and then, drag and drop furniture onto the plan from a catalog organized by categories. Each change in the 2D plan is simultaneously updated in the 3D view, to show you a realistic rendering of your layout.
This guide shows you how to create a home with Sweet Home 3D version 4.4. After describing its user interface, you'll learn how to draw the walls of your home, and how to layout the furniture. The example created in this tutorial is available at;
http://www.sweethome3d.com/examples/userGuideExample.sh3d (3.2 MB).

FreeCAD An Open Source parametric 3D CAD modeler

Getting started
Scroll below for Download link
FreeCAD is a 3D CAD/CAE parametric modeling application. It is primarily made for mechanical design, but also serves all other uses where you need to model 3D objects with precision and control over modeling history.
FreeCAD is still in the early stages of development, so, although it already offers you a large (and growing) list of features, much is still missing, specially comparing it to commercial solutions, and you might not find it developed enough yet for use in production environment. Still, there is a fast-growing community of enthusiastic users, and you can already find many examples of quality projects developed with FreeCAD.
Like all open-source projects, the FreeCAD project is not a one-way work delivered to you by its developers. It depends much on its community to grow, gain features, and stabilize (get bugs fixed). So don't forget this when starting to use FreeCAD, if you like it, you can directly influence and help the project!

  Tutorials to get starting

Who is FreeCAD for?

  • The home user/hobbyist. Got yourself a project you want to build, have built, or 3D printed? Model it in FreeCAD. No previous CAD experience required. Our community will help you get the hang of it quickly!
  • The experienced CAD user. If you use commercial parametric modeling software at work, you will find similar tools in FreeCAD.
  • The programmer. Most of FreeCAD's functionality is accessible to Python. You can easily pilot FreeCAD from scripts, build your own modules or even embed FreeCAD in your own application.
